Misamis Occidental's 'Kontra Bigay Program' hailed a success, says Gov Oaminal

In a recent statement Misamis Occidental Governor Henry Oaminal, he declared the 'Kontra Bigay' program a success throughout the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections campaign period. Approximately 80 percent of the local government units in the province showed their full support for the program, which aims to combat vote-buying and selling.
The Committee on Kontra Bigay, launched by the Commission on Elections, played a crucial role in strengthening the implementation of policies against these unlawful practices. Governor Oaminal emphasized that the provincial government expects the candidates to adhere to the Comelec guidelines and expressed his satisfaction with the compliance shown by all candidates.
One notable mention was Ozamiz City, where Oaminal reported a remarkable achievement of 99 percent in conducting an election without any instance of vote-buying.
Governor Oaminal commended the efforts of law enforcement agencies, the Comelec, and teachers assigned to different polling precincts for their dedication and commitment to ensuring a peaceful and orderly BSKE. He acknowledged the maturity of the people, who recognized that their right to suffrage should be valued more than any amount of money.
The successful implementation of the 'Kontra Bigay' program reflects the province's commitment to democratic processes and serves as an inspiration for future endeavors aimed at promoting fair and transparent elections.
