Jennifer Suico's Innovative E-Bike Venture Drives Economic Revival Amidst Pandemic Challenges

While the COVID-19 pandemic brought about economic challenges for many, one entrepreneur in Davao City, Jennifer Suico, found an opportunity to thrive by embracing innovation and community support. Jennifer Suico and her partner, Limwell Morales, have taken the lead in transforming local transportation with their e-Bike operation.

As lockdowns and social distancing measures limited conventional transportation options, the demand for alternative modes of transport surged. Recognizing this trend, Jennifer and Limwell introduced e-Bikes to their community, initially starting with just two units. However, they faced resistance from the Tricycle Operators and Drivers' Association (TODA), which dominated the area with padyak tricycles.

Overcoming five challenging months, Jennifer and Limwell persevered and successfully launched their e-Bike operation. As the popularity of e-Bikes soared, they expanded their fleet to 17 units and even opened doors to sell units from other operators. Remarkably, former padyak drivers joined their ranks as operators, not only providing them with income but also employment opportunities for the local community.

Operating 24/7, Jennifer's team offers transport services from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a dedicated night shift team. In addition to their e-Bike venture, they manage three multi-tenant houses, adding another stream of income to their burgeoning business empire. This success has allowed Jennifer to invest in property, provide a quality education for her children, and upgrade her family's living conditions.
