Centenarian Juanita Cabaitan Suazo Honored with 200,000 Pesos in Cash Gifts from National and Provincial Governments

A living testament to the passage of time, Juanita Cabaitan Suazo, a resident of the 50th Barangay in Ozamiz City, celebrated her remarkable 100th birthday last June 24, Married and the sibling of four, Mrs. Suazo, a retired public school teacher, received a heartfelt and generous gift from both the National Government and the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental in accordance with the Centenarians Act of 2016.

**A Life of Dedication and Service:**
Mrs. Suazo's life journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. As a retired public school teacher, she dedicated her career to shaping the minds of countless students, leaving an indelible mark on her community and earning the respect and admiration of generations.

**A Commemorative Gift:**
Under the provisions of Republic Act 10868, Filipino centenarians are entitled to receive a cash gift amounting to 100 hundred thousand pesos. In a touching display of recognition for her incredible longevity and contributions, Mrs. Suazo was presented with this cash gift, not only from the National Government but also from the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental.

**A Total of 200 Hundred Thousand Pesos:**
In a heartwarming ceremony attended by friends, family, and well-wishers, Juanita Cabaitan Suazo received a total of 200 hundred thousand pesos. This generous sum was made possible through the cooperation of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental.

The Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) of Misamis Occidental, under the leadership of Governor Henry Sevilla Oaminal, has consistently prioritized the needs and well-being of its elderly residents. Additionally, the Padayon Asenso Ozamiz administration, led by Mayor Indy Oaminal, has also pledged to honor the city's elderly residents with a cash gift worth 100 hundred thousand pesos. This demonstrates the city's dedication to recognizing the contributions of its elderly Ozamiznons.
